My first time hearing about Non-violent Communication (NVC) was seven years ago when I participated in the School of Peace Program in Indonesia. I spent two months there and learned about peace. Non-violent communication is one of the contents. Later, I participated in NVC training virtually, complemented by a training on 'Do No Harm', as I was personally invested in the topic. The more I learn, the better I can heal, setting myself free from hatred. I can’t imagine my life without the concept of NVC. Without it, I might unintentionally hurt people.
Imagine a world filled with misunderstandings, hatred, and miscommunication. NVC has enabled me to develop better communication skills, where I have learned to truly listen and listen to understand, not just to respond. It taught me to recognize our own needs as well as the needs of others and that's the beginning of the NVC concept I put into reality. It has never been easy to apply and it hurts along the way, yet it brought significant change. I’ve learned to express myself in a way that minimizes the pain within myself and those around me.

It might take some time to fully understand and apply this concept. However, If we're open enough, it gradually grows; it is like a mindset transformative journey. We learn to really listen. And this energy of active listening could also spread to others, to feel the presence of others, and to be there for someone whom you truly care and love.

Therefore, this is what inspires me to bring the NVC seed "concept" to contribute to making a better world where people could listen, connect, and inspire one another. It has helped me, so I believe it can help others too. We might have different stories to tell, but I hope the NVC takes part in spreading sympathy, compassion, and inspiration to others and across communities.
